高強度低合金截鋼ASTM 標準適用于鉚接、螺栓連接和焊接結構用的結構鋼棒材、型材和鋼板中。該類鋼具有良好的耐大氣腐蝕性能，明顯的比含銅或不含銅的碳素結構鋼的耐腐蝕性能強。他們能夠在裸露（未加涂層）狀態下用于許多場合，可以完全的暴露在大氣中。這些鋼材主要用在延長使用壽命或要求減輕重量的構件中。

備注Remarks:1.木標準的制在大多數環境中的耐大氣腐蝕性實質上好于含銅或不含銅的碳素結構鋼,在大氣中暴露時，在許多應用中能裸露使用（未上漆）。
